A new bug hit Twitter today, one that allowed people to control who followed them. Yes, that right! According to the reports, many users exploited this bug and made people follow them.
Twitter accounts of some big blogs like Mashable, and popular people like Conan O’Brien were also attacked. Conan O’Brien only followed one person on Twitter, and later on followed 194 people.

The bug was posted on a Turkish site and was tested by webrazzi.

To make anyone follow you, you just had to tweet “accept [Twitter Username]” and voila!
Example: accept techdin
Twitter has responded that the bug is being worked on right now. Also, people are reporting that their followers/following count has been reset to 0.
Update: Tweets of people being followed by a user still appear in the Twitter stream as usual.
Update: The issue is now completely fixed!
